Name of Organization: Tiffin Uinversity
Tiffin University is a small private Division II University located in Tiffin, Ohio. Tiffin University is apart of the very competitive GLIAC. Tiffin was founded in 1888 as primarily a Business school. Over the decades, Tiffin has expanded greatly, add many academic majors to the University. Tiffin University has recently built new buildings to house the increasing population of the students, and has also built an indoor facility to give their athletic teams a competitive edge against their opponents.
About the Track and Field Operations/Marketing
Over the Summer the internship was geared more toward the Management of the new facility, since it was completed this past spring. Some of the duties that were assigned over the summer were:• Find cost effective marketing options.
• Get word out to as many different types of media outlets as possible
• Organize group structure
• Find cost effective attractions
• Document current policies and procedures
• Utilize social media outlets

• Perform assigned duties deemed necessary by management

Mission & Values
The Track and Field Operation/Marketing internship mission and value was to design and implement activities to
increase attendance at the annual fundraiser, camps, clinics and competitions.

Affiliations: Tiffin University is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Supervisor Profile
Kevin Kean is a native of Shorewood, Wis. and received his undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan (Dec. 2009), double majoring in Health and Physical Education. Kean is in his first season as an assistant coach for track and field at Tiffin University. He will be responsible for coaching the jumpers and multi event athletes. Keen spent the last five years (Sept. 2008 to Dec. 2012) as assistant track coach at Northern Michigan. His athletes shared success at the GLIAC, regional and national levels. Keen helped develop a previously unranked team to as high as the top three in the GLIAC, in addition to top a 14 national indoor ranking and a top 20 outdoor ranking. He coached seven All-Americas in the high jump, triple jump, and pole vault in addition to having athletes breaking the indoor and outdoor GLIAC record in the triple jump and setting a total of 22 school records.
In May of 2012, he received a Masters in Exercise Science from NMU. Kean holds a certification through the USTFCCCA Track and Field Technical Certification (TFTC) program, and USATF Level II Jumps Coach program. Throughout his time as a student and coach at Northern Michigan University, He taught courses for the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Department while working for the United States Olympic Education Center (USOEC) as a Resident Life Coordinator in addition to his internship work with the USOEC Weightlifting team.
